WHY I WALK

“Over the last 4 years I have walked 78.6 miles with the Jimmy Fund walk. But this year was extra special for me. This year I got to proudly wear a red hat. The red hat signifies a team captain, this year I was lucky enough to be a junior co-captain of a walk day team. This has meant so much for me because it shows that the countless hours of work that I have put into to Team Tara’s events and my own fundraising have made a difference. To me the Jimmy Fund means optimism, hope, and community. They have given numerous lives a second chance, and I think that is so amazing. I not only walk for those who have lost their battle to cancer, those who won their fight, those who are fighting, but for those who will one day fight. I walk because everyone should receive the care level that Dana-Farber gives to each of their patients. I walk to find a cure for cancer.”
